My sweet young bride

On Wednesday, Shanna and I heard from my sister that there was a huge sale at the Ream's in Springville. Lays chips for 99 cents, lil' smokies for a dollar, a 10 oz tub of lunch meat for 45 cents, 15 lbs of potatos for a dollar, etc. So we decided to go. While there, we picked up all of the best sales. I even won a package of free sausages ($5.79 value) for answering a question at the meat and cheese desk. They gave away a lot of free stuff. Sausages(for the lucky ones), Large plastic spoons, candy, free samples, and even key chains....Which brings me to the real story.

An old woman came down the extremely long line of people handing out said keychains with flowers in them (pressed flowers). She was just handing them to all of the girls. Right down the line. First one to the lady in front of us, then to my mom, then my sister, then Shanna,.....wait, hold on a second. Before giving one to Shanna, the lady stopped and asked, "Are you even old enough to drive?" Shanna looked really surprised and said, "yeah." Then the lady gave one to her. It was really weird. She didn't think twice to give one to my sister, but stopped and asked about Shanna. I guess I'm married to someone who looks like they are still a mia maid. That'll be great a bit down the road when shanna's 36 because she'll still look 29. The only problem is that now, people think that she's 15.

Dishwasher Update

I mentioned earlier that I was going to make Evan do all of the dishes until he fixes our dishwasher. It was a lie. I have been doing them too. And our dishwasher isn't fixed yet because we don't want to pay $60 for the tiny piece of plastic to fix it. We may have to pay it soon though. I'm not very fond of washing dishes.

Christmas is coming!

Evan and I put up our Christmas tree last night and we (really just me) are in the process of decorating the rest of our apartment for Christmas! I may put up photos sometime.

Also, starting on Friday, I will begin the annual tradition of wearing Christmas clothing every day until Christmas. I may post photos of that as well. We'll have to see.

Here are some of the Christmas movies I have already watched this year: A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story, and Christmas in Connecticut. I checked out Scrooge from the library and I have White Christmas on hold, but let me know if you have any suggestions for classic Christmas movies.

Broken Dishwasher

Our dishwasher broke the other day. Whenever we hook it up to the sink, it just pops right off. It is terrible! Right now we are just using it as a dish dryer, but hopefully we will get it fixed soon. It seems pretty easy to fix. We just need a new part for it. In the mean time, to encourage Evan to fix it faster, he has to wash all of the dishes by hand.

Florals

On Thursday I got to take home a huge leftover floral arrangement from work. I wanted to work on my floral portfolio so I took it apart and made about 10 arrangements from it. Here are a few of my favorites:

This one was made in our toilet brush container. Kinda gross.

Ride to Utah Lake Toll Booth

Saturday's adventure consisted of a long bike ride to the toll booth at Utah Lake State Park. Shanna wanted to get a look at some houses that were"great deals" in the area, so we rode past them on the way out there. Both of the houses ended up having tiny yards so she didn't like either of them. Plus they were both in a scary part of town. We can't afford a house anyway. (Except for a real cheapie in Arizona that my dad was telling me about.)

Evan kept riding on the wrong side of the street and endangering Shanna's life so she got mad at him and took the lead. However, shortly thereafter (about 30 seconds by my reckoning) she missed our turn which resulted in a long "scenic" route. We eventually reached Utah Lake but since we had no money, we couldn't go in to the park and see the water. The ranger wasn't at the station, so Evan tried to ride in like he did last time with Shanna, but Shanna threatened to send him to bed without dinner if he did.

Shanna insisted on taking the Provo River Trail back home so that we wouldn't have to ride on the street and die from Evan's unpredictable bike riding behaviors. Evan remembered the trail to be a lot bumpier than it was this time. The trail was completely covered in leaves most of the way. We saw and mooed at lots of cows on the way. It was a pretty good 15 mile ride round trip which we completed in just under 2 hours, which made our average pace about 7.5 miles per hour. Evan and Shanna burned 569 calories a piece. Yay! That meant that for dinner they could go eat at Rumbi Island Grill. Delicious.

I love Walmart and Christmas. Shanna made me type that.

Bike Test Ride

Hello fellow people who use the internet and read our b-log. We have some exciting news. Trek bikes has a new program called project 1 that they launched a month ago. Shanna won a contest at the bike shop to test it out. In it, you get to pick a bike model and then change the color scheme and bike components to whatever you like, then they build it and ship it to you. This is the bike that she made. (Since she won, she got to choose, but I managed to convince her that if she wanted purple, she should at least get the phoenix suns colors.)

If you read this far, you may have guessed that this was just a November Fools joke on you!!! Ha Ha Ha. This bike would have cost $10,000 if we were to buy it.
