Today at Work

My co-workers and I got to make another planter today. This time we bought a really cool green orchid and some other cool plants. I added white and black lichens and bamboo-like sticks of varying length. It turned out pretty cool.

Work Pictures

I wrote about a planter and a flower arrangment that I made at work and now I have pictures. I just ordered a new cord for my camera so after I get it I can post the rest of the Christmas pictures. I know you are all dying in anticipation.

Life Without Evan: Valentine's Day

Despite the fact that Evan wasn't here for Valentine's Day, I actually had a really good and busy day. For all of you dying to know, this is what I did on Valentine's Day:
  • Woke up to discover it was snowing.
  • Went to work for about 40 mins. On the way the car lost traction on the snow and I almost ran into a parked car, but luckily I didn't.
  • Went to the temple with my old roommates Lindsey and MJ and MJ's current roommate. It was a great way to start the morning and I came out of there with a stronger knowledge that God cares about each of us.
  • Had lunch with my old roommate Lindsey and babysat Sadie. She's adorable!
  • Went to dinner with Evan's grandma and tons of Evan's family that I've never met before. I think a lot of them didn't Even know who Evan was, but it was fun. Thanks Grandma!
  • Went to Maranda's salon with Maranda's sister Haley and we both got our hair trimmed and deep conditioned. Maranda gave me a great head massage too! If anyone needs a good hair cutter, try Maranda!
  • Watched a movie with Maranda and Haley.
  • Talked to Evan
  • Watched The Office from last Thursday.
  • Went to bed.

Life Without Evan: Day 6

Today was another unusual day at work. I did floral arrangements all day. Here are two arrangments of particular interest:

My boss's boss brought us a vase to use for his Valentine's Day arrangement. When he gave it to us he emphasised that we needed to be very careful with it because it was handmade from recycled glass and it cost a lot of money. Guess what happened to it? That's right. We broke it. Well, it broke on it's own sorta. I don't think it wasn't strong enough to hold the water and the gravel that I had to put in there to make the flowers stand up and while we were all gone from the greenhouse, the vase just broke. And right after we discovered it was broken, my boss's boss came in to check out how the flowers were coming. Talk about bad timing. I almost had a heart attack. I must admit it was a little scary to explain how his $100 one-of-a-kind vase broke. He is going to try to get his money back. I hope he can.

We also did a whole bunch of flowers for the Bronco Mendenhall dinner/speech thing tonight. I got to make the huge arrangement and it turned out really well. It looked like something you would see in a fancy hotel lobby. It was about 3.5 to 4 ft tall and had blue glass, curly willow, calla lilies, and hydrangeas in it. So cool!

Life Without Evan: Day 5

My mom thought I was dead because I didn't write in my blog every day since Evan has been gone. I am, however, not dead at all. I am surviving quite well without Evan, although I do miss him a bunch. After coming home to an empty apartment the past few days, I have decided that I don't ever want to live alone. If Evan ever dies, I'd rather have at least one roommate. But let's hope that doesn't happen any time soon.

I usually don't write about work on here for some reason, but today was kinda an unusual day at work. I went shopping for the majority of the day and my co-workers and I made a really cool and nice looking planter for someone who's wife died. I wish I had a picture of it to post on here, but I didn't bring my camera to work today.
I went to the wholesale florist where we buy all of our flowers today and they were stocked up for Valentine's day. This isn't the place we went, but this is kinda what a wholesale florist looks like:

Life Without Evan: Day 1

Evan went to Korea this morning. The garbage can is getting pretty full and I'm not quite sure who is going to take it out.

I ate 2.5 zucchinis today.

I just got back from dinner with Maranda and her family and my apartment smells like fish or something. I thought that might be related to the garbage can issue, but it isn't. The garbage smells fine.

Anyone out there need a babysitter for Valentine's Day during the evening? I'm free as long as you have good kids.
