Graduation and Family Pictures

Well, In case you didn't know, Shanna graduated this past week. I say graduated, but I should say that she participated in the graduation services since she finished school in December. It was good to see her in the ceremony. I'm happy that she's been so successful in her goals so far. I'd put a picture online of her in her graduation garb but I don't have them off of the camera yet.

Following the service though, since her whole family was in town, we decided to do some family pictures. We did them at Wymount at these big grassy hills so that the background would be green and lovely. Here are two of them. Notice that my stomach wanted to come out and play that afternoon. I don't make a habit of wearing short shirts, I guess the jumping up in the air thing made my belly pop out.
Another note on the picture above. As soon as Shanna's feet hit the ground after leaping into the air, they slipped straight out in front of her and she took a spill. At least the seat of her pants didn't get a grass stain...

2010... here we come

Next year some of the kids I babysat will be starting college. I guess kids I babysat have been going to college for a while. But soon the ones that really needed a babysitter when I babysat them will be in college. Weird.

On a positive note...

My friend is letting me borrow her cap and gown for graduation. That is saving us almost $50.

Wymount Sucks

Evan and I are going to Washington DC this summer, which meant we had to give our two month's notice to Wymount. We actually only gave a month and a third notice, hoping someone would want our apartment and we wouldn't have to pay for the last 2/3 month, but Wymount chose to not even make it available for someone to rent until June 10th, meaning we have to pay rent up until June 6th. However, we have to move out on May 18th. It says they can do that in the contract, but they don't usually do that. So really it comes down to we have to pay an extra $300 or something and we can't even live here while we are paying for it.

Moving to DC

Evan and I are going to Washington DC for the summer. We put in our two months notice and are moving out by May 18. We already checked out a bunch of books from the library about DC and are looking for a place to live. It will be an adventure!

Today after conference Evan and I tried to fly our kites. Evan got his Sponge Bob kite up in the air pretty high and I got my cute fishy kite a little high. It wasn't very windy though.
