Baby Nursery

On Sunday I came up with some ideas for decorating our little boy's room. I drew some pictures, but I'd have to scan them in for you all to see them and I'm much to lazy to do that. Here's a picture I found on the Internet that uses the colors I want to use. Minus black.

Here are the things I'll have to do:

  • Move our big chair from our living room and make a brown slipcover for it. I don't know how to make a slipcover though, so we'll see if it actually happens.
  • Make or buy green bedding.
  • Buy a brown crib, or paint it brown.
  • Get green curtains.
  • I'd love to get a rug too, but we don't really need one and they are expensive so it is pretty unlikely that will happen.
  • Make three pictures to hang above the crib that have the letters A, B, and C on them with a brown frame and green mat.

So cute!

Missing Nature

This summer Evan and I have had the chance to do a lot of sight seeing. We've seen historic buildings, museums, monuments, memorials, gardens, and even a zoo. It has been fun and interesting, but we haven't been camping, hiking, biking, boating, or anything this summer and I've missed it. There is something so nice about getting away from people and the city and just enjoying nature. We went to the beach a few weeks ago, but I don't even feel like that counts because it was really crowded.

Hopefully when we go back to Utah or even to New York we'll have sometime to enjoy outdoors before summer is over.

18 Week Ultrasound

On Saturday I reached my 18 week mark, which means that many of our baby's body parts (including boy and girl parts) are developed enough to see on an ultrasound so I get to go in for my 18-20 week ultrasound on Friday. That means we may know what gender we are having on Friday! A late birthday present for me and an early birthday present for Evan!

In other news, I haven't told anyone at work that I am pregnant because I just think it would be a little weird since they all think I am 15. However, it is getting pretty hard to hide it because after I eat lunch, my belly pokes out quite a bit, despite the loose T-shirts I wear for a uniform. But I don't have to worry about that much longer because my last day is Friday.

Plans for the next few weeks

The week after Friday is my last day of work. Wahoo! Then Evan and I are celebrating our birthdays and Dave and Amanda and Bruce are coming to visit. Then Evan and I are cleaning our apartment and going to New York to visit his grandparents. Then we are flying back to Provo. Then a week later, we are moving into our new apartment at Wymount. Then I guess I'll find a job or something for a few months while Evan finishes up his undergrad.

Evan took the GRE yesterday and he did pretty good. Congratulations Evan!

We went to the beach on Saturday with the other interns. We saw wild ponies, got really sunburned, and tried boogie boarding and crab cakes. I may or may not post pictures later.

By the way, I have a human being inside my body. I am planning on letting it stay inside of me until sometime around January 9th.
