Did I mention that Calvin drinks out of a sippy cup now? It is awesome. And I'm done nursing him, which is even more awesome.

Christmas outfits... the first installment of the season

As promised, here are my Christmas outfits.

This one is from Black Friday. Calvin looks weird, but at least he dressed up, which is more than I can say for Evan.
Sunday: Monday (Isn't Calvin cute?):

This one is today. I've been feeling sick so I didn't even get dressed until 2:30 and I'll admit, my Christmas outfit is a little lacking today.

Calvin's bear hat

I made this hat for Calvin about a month ago. He had one just like it last year too and I thought it was so cute that he needed a bigger one for this year.

Our trip to Portland

Calvin and I flew to Portland the first week of November so I could do the flowers for my brother's wedding open house. Well, really we flew there because my mom wanted to see Calvin.

Calvin was pretty good for both plane rides, which was a relief. He even fell asleep for a while on the way to Portland.

We had a nice week of playing and eating delicious food. The weather was perfect and it barely rained at all the whole time I was there (a miracle!). Calvin really liked my mom, but was a little scared of everyone else, especially if I wasn't near him.

It was fun to do the flowers for the open house. I had to improvise on a few things. For example, the arch wasn't strong enough to hold wet floral foam, so I had to wire some of the flowers onto it and just set the rest on top. Luckily, no one bumped it or everything might have fallen down.

The florist sent me a different color of football mum than I ordered, which looked terrible with the tablecloths, so I changed the table arrangements from the original plan and they looked much better. These pictures do not do them justice at all. The flowers looked way better in real life.

Calvin's pumpkin hat

Amanda made a pumpkin hat for Calvin and I took about a million pictures of him in it. These are the best ones.

We didn't take Calvin trick-or-treating for Halloween this year because he doesn't eat candy. Instead, we took him to the library and out to eat in his costume. After we got back, we put Calvin to bed, played some games, and waited for trick-or-treaters. By 8pm no one had come by so we decided to start eating our candy. Then, when we only had a few pieces of candy left, we heard a bunch of kids outside. Luckily, they didn't stop at our apartment. Three kids came a few minutes later, leaving us with only two pieces of candy left. So we turned off all our lights and hid in our bedroom.

The drinking problem

Yesterday I tried getting Calvin to drink from a cup and it worked! Maybe this will be the solution to his non-drinking problem since he doesn't really drink from sippy cups or bottles.

Thanks for the coupons

As I mentioned before, I like to use coupons. Yesterday I got 6 packs of diapers and a bunch of other stuff from Rite aid for about $6. I bought all this stuff from Smith's for $25 (78% off!).
So I just wanted to thank Evan's grandma and my mom for sending me their coupons!

Calvin is getting good at walking

Calvin walks more than he crawls now. Here is a little sample of him roaming the apartment.
